Valley City  (CSi)  The Gaukler Wellness Center in Valley City concluded a three day Grand Opening celebration Wednesday with the official ribbon cutting.

The Gaukler Family Wellness Center, is  $16 million 65,000-square-foot facility on the Valley City State University campus,  managed by the Valley City Parks and Recreation.

It’s  also home to VCSU’s kinesiology and human performance department with classrooms, labs and faculty offices.

VCSU President Tisa Mason said students wanted a facility that reinforces fitness and healthy lifestyles.

Valley City  (CSi)  The Gaukler Family Wellness Center in Valley City has its Grand Opening November 28th-30th.

Gaukler Family Wellness Center spokeswoman Ali Keller says  “Senior Day” is Monday, November 28th. She said all Seniors are invite to join them for tours, free Caribou coffee and membership information. She said Free Senior Fitness Classes will be held at 10am & 1pm, and Zumba Gold at 6:30pm.

On Tuesday, November 29th it’s “Family Day” She said families are welcome to join us for a day of free child watch, playground access, free fitness classes and family swimming. We will be hosting a kickball and freeze tag game at 4pm in the gymnasium.

Membership options will also be discussed.

On Wednesday, November 30th it’s “Grand Opening Day” as all community members are welcome to join us for coffee and cake as well as some healthy snacks courtesy of  “On The Move.”  There will be on going tours throughout the day.

The Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4pm
