JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) – The new executive director of the Buffalo City Tourism Foundation in Jamestown says the biggest challenge in his new job will be getting people to look beyond their preconceived notions about North Dakota.

Searle Swedlund getting the word out about what Jamestown and North Dakota offers travelers is the biggest challenge in his new job.

Swedlund took over as executive director of the Buffalo City Tourism Foundation on Monday. He replaced Nina Sneider, who retired after nine years in the position.

Swedlund says a new foundation website will make it easier for people around the country to understand what Jamestown and North Dakota can offer, like outdoor activities.
