Watch RIB FEST below as aired on CSi TV 10. Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News ) — “Rib Fest” was held Sat at Ave Maria Village, June 1. The cool windy weather did not dampen the spirits of the hungery media judges, who eagerly consumed a rib from each of the 8 Rib-Cookers in a blind taste test. The “Judges Selection” was Firehouse Ribs, and the “Peoples Choice” winner was Agricover, Inc. Proceeds from the event will support Stutsman County Relay for Life, from Ave Maria Village, and vendors, and those cooking ribs.

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News May 27,2013) — “Rib Fest,” at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, 11AM – 4pm, June 1. Proceeds from the event will support Stutsman County Relay for Life, from Ave Maria Village, and vendors, and those cooking ribs.
Other Relay for Life teams may sell items other than ribs, to support their own team, while participating the Ave Maria Village event.
On the pre-recorded Memorial Day edition of the Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2, Lori Mettert with the Ave Maria Village, Activities Department said, the event will be from 11-am to 4-p.m., at Ave Maria Village. Maps will be handed out as people come into the event, so everybody knows where to find the various activities.
Ms. Mettert pointed that the 1st Annual “Rib Fest,” in 2012, raised over $9,300 for Relay for Life.
Vendors and rib cookers may also donate all or a portion of their sales to Relay for Life, or designate a free will offering.
Ms. Mettert said they will have one ton of ribs available to cook, and will NOT run out of ribs this year.
She added that vendors will also have racks of ribs available to purchase to bring home.
This year there will be two awards given out, the judged “Best Ribs,” and new this year is the “Peoples Choice,” Award, with voting on favorites, at “a buck-bone.”
She added the entrance cost is $5 for adults, and $3 for children 12 and under.
The ribs purchase per plate, is up to the decision of each vendor.
Volunteers are needed to do the cooking. They along with concessionaires and vendors are welcome to get signed up now.
She pointed out that this year the Silent Auction will run from 11-a.m., to 3-p.m., adding there will be “buy it now,” items also available.
Seating will be available for Ave Maria Village residents who will also take part in the festivities.
Raffles will include buying tickets at $5 each, or 3/$10.00. Prizes include a $400 BBQ grill & set, and a Bicycle donated by Wal-Mart.
Also at Rib Fest there will be the car, motorcycle, and tractor show, trophies will be awarded in various categories. No entry fee.
She added that there will be music entertainment through Rib Fest with bands.
There will be a 12 and under dance to the music of Buffalo Groove.
Ave Maria, Chaplain, Deacon Tom, who is in charge of kids games noted, that this year there will be two categories of inflatable games, one, set aside for the younger kids.
He added that there will also be barrel rides for the kids, and kids foods, like hot dogs, Philly Cheesesteak, mini donuts, BBQs, slushies, floats, candy and more.
Those wishing to be vendors, or enter cars, motorcycles, or tractors may contact her, along with anyone wishing to donate silent auction items.
Those wishing to enter cars motorcycles or tractors may also enter the day of the event.
There will be plenty of parking available.
