Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Fire department was called out at 8:30pm for a house fire in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue  Northwest.  The house is located in the backyard of a street-side residence, and was reported by neighbors as on fire.

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther reports fire was on the main floor reaching into the attic of the structure.

The female occupant of the house and her dog escaped to a neighbor’s house where she called 9-1-1.

Reuther says the City Fire Department  is investigating the cause of the fire, but is not considered suspicious.

Lt., Sheldon Mohr says Mohr 17 firefighters and five trucks were on the scene over  three hours.

The female resident was displaced by the fire, and the American Red Cross was assisting in finding her lodging.

The City Water Department was called out due to a broken hydrant.  Repairs to the hydrant were performed Sunday morning.

City Fire Units returned to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday when the fire flared up.

Jamestown (CSi)  The Jamestown Fire Department was called out at about 2:40 p.m. Sunday with a report of smoke and a fire on the exterior of a house at the 800 block of 2nd Avenue, Northeast.

Lt. Sheldon Mohr says the fire was under control by the time units arrived. No damage,with  the cause of the fire was under investigation.
