NEW YORK (AP) — The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors will have two players in the starting lineup for the Feb. 19 All-Star game in New Orleans.
LeBron James and Kyrie (KY’-ree) Irving were selected to the Eastern Conference starting lineup and will be joined by Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo (YAH’-nihs an-the-toh-KAHM’-poh), Jimmy Butler of Chicago and DeMar DeRozan of Toronto. James was the leading vote-getter among fans with nearly 1.9 million.
The Western Conference will begin the game with Stephen (STEH’-fehn) Curry and Kevin Durant on the floor. The two Warriors will start with Houston’s James Harden, Anthony Davis of New Orleans and Kawhi (kah-WY’) Leonard of San Antonio.
Fan voting accounted for 50 percent in the new system. Current players and a media panel accounted for 25 percent apiece.
