Jamestown CSi) The Jamestown Public School Board, Monday, approved the Pingree-Buchanan School’s request to withdraw from the James Valley Career and Technology Center.
Superintendent Rob Lech said the agreement for all schools involved in the JVCTC put the Jamestown Public School Board as the operating board.
Some school board members were disappointed that the school chose to leave the program. Board member Jennifer Schmidt said she respects the school’s decision due to financial issues, but was concerned about the students.
Also at the meeting, Southeast District Judge Thomas Merrick was recognized for his service to the students at Jamestown Public School’s . Board member Bob Toso reported on Judge Merrick’s work with the schools and drug court.
Students recognized for Winter Activities, included Rachel Schiele receiving State Champion on the Beam, Connor Fuchs and Matt Schneider were recognized for All-State Boy’s Hockey, Haley Hillstrom for All-State Girl’s Hockey, and Jonas Flann for All-State Boy’s Swim/Dive 2nd Team.
