Jamestown  (CSi)  Jamestown Tourism’s Board of Directors Monday, unanimously approved the 2018 budget.  Board members Lisa Barnick, Tim Burchill and Jamie Desai were not present Monday.

The $435,550 budget moves funds internally without increasing the overall dollars from 2017.

The 2018 budget reduces administrative costs to adjust for a four percent wage increase.

Part time staff increases and the cost of a contracted audit is required every three years.

Also internal budget shifts allows the $150,000 in grant funds that Jamestown Tourism awards will still be available to award to area organizations,

Jamestown Tourism is funded by the city visitors’ promotion fund, which is comprised of all city lodging tax proceeds and 80 percent of restaurant tax proceeds. The remaining 20 percent of the restaurant tax is dedicated to the city visitors’ promotion capital construction fund.

Tourism Director Swedlund added that the new Jamestown Tourism website go online in about a month.
