Valley City (CSi) Meeting in Special Session, the Valley City Commission has, on a 4-0 vote, approved an agreement with residents who live in three Cul De Sacs on Central Avenue, North.
Commissioner Mike Bishop abstained from voting, saying he had a conflict of interest because he lives in the neighborhood.
The resolution, calls for residents not having to pay for additional assessments associated with a future repair project or attorney fees.
Under the agreement, the Valley City will pay for one-third of the costs associated with the estimated $87,500 repair. The remaining two-thirds is being negotiated by KLJ Engineering and the contractor Knife River Inc.
Valley City Administrator David Schelkoph adds Interstate Engineering was hired by the city to help resolve differences residents had with the original project that was completed in 2015.
