UJ women defeat Comets, Sat basketball

MAYVILLE, N.D.  (UJ) — Paige Emmel (SR/Bismarck, ND) scored a career-high 27 points, including 7 three-point field goals to help the No. 8 Jimmie women’s basketball team to a 75-62 win over 16th-ranked Mayville State (N.D.) Saturday.

Emmel’s seven three-pointers is the second-most in a single game by a UJ player, just one off the record of eight, set by Sara McLean in 2002-03.

Jamestown improves to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in North Star Athletic Association conference play. Mayville State falls to 8-2 and 1-1 in NSAA action.

UJ returns home for a pair of games Friday against Waldorf (Iowa) and Saturday against Viterbo (Wis.)
