Jamestown  (CSi)  The South Central Dakota Regional Council has approved a loan to the Recycling Center of North Dakota LLC, Jamestown’s recycling center.

The Executive Board unanimously approved the $553,703 loan to recycling center partners Ralph Friebel and Ron Schmidt.

Friebel told the City Council this week that residential recycling is expected to start in Jamestown February 1, 2018.

Earlier this year the City Council on a 3-2 voted moved to stop the recycling center’s subsidy.

The 84-month loan will be used to purchase trucks, GPS software, curotto cans, curb carts and dumpsters.

The Regional Council’s risk, with the loan includes  Friebel and Schmidt show equity including First Position with the equipment and vehicles and then a second position with any lien on other assets.
