Madison, SD  (uj.edu)  — Kat Miska (SO/Pequot Lakes, MN) has been named North Star Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Miska posted double-digit strikeout games in winning both of her starts last week, as the No. 16 Jimmies posted conference sweeps over Dakota State (S.D.) and Viterbo (Wis.) to improve their overall record to 29-6 and 12-3 in the NSAA.

Against Dakota State, Miska struck out 11 in six innings, allowing just two runs on two hits. She followed that up with a 13-strikeout performance in a four-hit shutout against Viterbo. Miska, 8-1 this season with a 1.81 earned run average, has 11 or more strikeouts in three of her last four starts.

Jamestown is scheduled for a non-conference doubleheader against Minnesota-Crookston on Thursday, then will return to conference action with a pair of doubleheaders against Waldorf (Iowa) on April 14-15 in Forest City, Iowa.
