Madison SD  (uj.edu)The 15th-ranked University of Jamestown softball team captured the North Star Athletic Association regular season conference championship Saturday, defeating Viterbo (Wis.) 6-1 and 7-1.

The Jimmies improve their record to 39-6 overall, 22-3 in the NSAA, and extend their winning streak to 15. Jamestown will have the number one seed in the postseason conference tournament, which begins Friday in Aberdeen, S.D.

A five-run fourth inning proved to be the difference maker for UJ in Saturday’s opening game against the V-Hawks.
