Bismarck  (CSi)  Trooper David Kamp was named the 2017 Trooper of the Year at the North Dakota Motor Carrier Association’s (NDMCA) banquet held last week in Fargo. Kamp, serving the NW region and stationed in Garrison, has been a trooper since 1991.

This NDMCA honor reflects the trucking industry’s appreciation for enhancing safety for those who depend on the highway for their livelihood. In his nomination letter, Kamp was lauded for embodying the mission of the North Dakota Highway Patrol. Kamp was further described as a “self-motivated trooper who has demonstrated an excellent work ethic throughout his entire 27-year career with the Patrol.”
Other nominees for the award include Trooper Jed Dahnke, SE Region; Trooper Brandon Wade, Motor Carrier; Trooper Tarek Chase, SW Region; Trooper Michael Hayen, SW Region; and Trooper Brett Mlynar, NE Region.
