OAKES, N.D. (AP Apr 17, 2013) – A Brampton man faces hit-and-run charges connected to the death of a 28-year-old Oakes man.
Twenty-two-year-old Dakota Sutton appeared in Southeast Judicial District court on Wednesday on charges of murder, manslaughter, drunken driving and driving with a suspended license. He’s accused of striking Reavis Dandridge with his truck on Sargent County Road 2, about four miles south of North Dakota Highway 11, on April 7.
Judge Brad Cruff set bail at $500,000. His next court appearance has not yet been set. A lawyer representing Sutton wasn’t immediately available for comment.

Oakes, ND (KCSi-T.V. Apr 7, 2013) — The NDHP, along with assistance from the ND BCI, Sargent County SO and Oakes PD is investigating a possible vehicle/pedestrian hit and run crash that occurred on a rural, gravel county road in Sargent County around three a.m., Sunday April 7, 2013.
The report says a truck driven by 22-year-old Dakota Sutton of Brampton, North Dakota struck an unidentifed 28-year-old man on Sargent County Road two, four miles south of North Dakota Highway 11 around 3 a.m. Sunday.
The victim was taken by a private vehicle to Oakes Community Hospital around 5 a.m., and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Sutton is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, and is in custody at the Barnes County jail. No other details were available on Sunday.
The investigation, is continuing.
The deceased party’s name will be released Monday afternoon.
