UND’s Forbort Turning Pro

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – University of North Dakota junior hockey defenseman Derek Forbort is giving up his final year of college eligibility to turn pro. The school says Forbort has signed a three-year entry level contract with the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings. The Duluth, Minnesota native was a first-round draft pick of the Kings in 2010, selected 15th overall. Forbort is the third UND player to turn pro this spring.
