FARGO, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota State head men’s basketball coach Saul Phillips says he interviewed with Ball State in Indiana but that he will be NDSU’s head coach next season.
Phillips says the talks last week were “in-depth” but “not as formal as you might think.” He declined to say who ended the talks or if he was even offered the Ball State job.
Phillips’ five-year deal with the Bison ends in June. He says he and Athletic Director Gene Taylor have started talks.
NDSU next season returns all five starters and a few key role players from a team that won 24 games this past season.
