Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Buffalo City Tourism Foundation Board has approved funding arrangements with the city of Jamestown and the Jamestown/ Stutsman Development Corp.
Tourism Executive Director Searle Swedlund says under the four year agreement approved by the City Council, Tourism receives $299,320 this year for the foundation’s enterprise plan. The Foundation will receive between $290,320 to $323,320 for 2014 depending on the amount requested in its enterprise plan for 2014.
The City Council will determine the amount of funding the foundation receives for 2015 and 2016 at a later date.
The City of Jamestown levies a 2 percent tax on lodging and a 1 percent tax on restaurants, which is then sent to the city from the state, and used for tourism promotion.
