University of Jamestown sports schedule changes

Jamestown (uj.edu) The late-winter blizzard that dropped a foot of snow in the Jamestown area earlier this month is still having an effect on the 2019 spring sports schedule. Below is a list of the updated University of Jamestown athletic events for this weekend:

Baseball: The doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University scheduled to be played in Jamestown will now be played in Mitchell, S.D. Saturday’s first pitch is set for 1 p.m. and Sunday’s games will start at noon. UJ will be the home team in all four games.

Men’s Golf: The TPC Deere Run Collegiate Invitational in Silvis, Ill., on March 29-30 has been cancelled.

Softball: The Jimmies will be in Sioux City, Iowa, Friday to play Briar Cliff University in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. Saturday’s doubleheader against College of Saint Mary (Neb.), originally scheduled to be played in Jamestown, will instead be played in Omaha, Neb., at 1:00 p.m. The Jimmies will be the home team.

Men’s and Women’s Track & Field: UJ will be competing Saturday at the BVU Outdoor Invite, hosted by Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, at 10:00 a.m. The Jimmies were scheduled for the Mustang Open, hosted by Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, Minn., on March 29-30, but that meet was cancelled.
