(VCSU) Bellevue University took advantage of a stiff wind blowing out of the park Sunday, hitting eight home runs as they swept a North Star baseball doubleheader from Valley City State University.
Bellevue hit five home runs in game one, winning 22-3, and then tallied three home runs in an 11-8 victory in game two. The Vikings went 1-3 against Bellevue during the four-game series, handing the Bruins their first conference loss during Saturday’s doubleheader.
VCSU is now 9-14 overall and 4-4 in conference play. Bellevue moves to 22-14 overall and 11-1 in conference play.
Up next: Valley City State is scheduled to face Mayville State on Tuesday for a conference doubleheader. The location of that game is still undecided, dependent on field conditions at Mayville State.
