Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News — The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called out just before 1-p.m. Wednesday (Apr 24, 2013) to a grass and structure fire, five miles south and three miles east of Jamestown, at 4110 86th Avenue, Southeast
Two quonset huts were involved in the blaze and sustained minor damage.
About 10 acres of land was burned.
Firefighters started a back burn, in a small slough to keep the fire from restarting.
The fire was caused by embers in a burn barrel on the property that floated into nearby tall grass.
The rural fire department on the scene for two hours, with 18 firefighters, and 9 units.
No injuries were reported.
