Syracuse, N.Y. By Chris Carson, syracuse.com — One of the biggest cranes in the United States has been fully constructed outside the Carrier Dome, where it is expected to dominate the city skyline until at least January.
An LR-11000 crane, one of just 13 in the country, can now be seen from a variety of places around Syracuse. The crane’s main boom measures 217 feet and an attached boom measures 295 feet, allowing it to stand hundreds of feet above the Carrier Dome’s current roof.
