Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News May 1, 2013) — The Jamestown City Fire Department and Montana Dakota Utilities responded to a call just before 4-p.m., on Wednesday (May 1, 2013) where a natural gas leak was reported.

City Fire Lt. Sheldon Mohr said the location was the alley at 1214 9th Avenue, Southeast, where a natural gas line was ruptured.

An individual was digging to place a fence post when the line was struck.

The city fire department was on standby at the scene, until MDU shut off the gas line about 4:30-p.m., and the city fire department returned to the fire station.

24 city fire fighters were called to the fire station, as two fire units were on the scene.  CSi photos Brian Lang.
