Valley City (CSi) The Barnes County Historical Society Lecture Series Season 21 Presents: Andrea Nelson (Sheyenne River Valley Community Foundation) “A Key to a Thriving Community: Building philanthropy and supporting our Nonprofit Sector” 7PM Thursday, November 14th, at the Barnes County Museum.
The Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation was established in 2013 as a qualified endowment fund to receive, manage and distribute gifts made to the Foundation for charitable purposes. The Foundation connect donors with causes they care about and serve as a catalyst for community change. It is dedicated to the improvement and long-term viability of the Sheyenne River Valley Area, including Barnes, Griggs, and Ransom Counties. Donors to the Foundation have access to all tax benefits available including ND Tax Credits.
Andrea Nelson is current Director of the Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation and has the pleasure of connecting donors to the charitable needs of the community. She works closely with local nonprofits and assist them in empowering their board and staff to engage in community outreach.
Andrea has found great joy in a career in the nonprofit sector and has developed a deep understanding of their important role in creating meaningful and vibrant communities.

All Lectures are at the Barnes County Historical Society Museum and held in conjunction with Valley City State University. They are free and open to the public.
