Arnold James Dockter, 89, Medina, ND died Wednesday February 5, 2020 at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck.
Arnold was born October 13, 1930, SW of Medina, ND, the son of Gottlieb and Pauline (Dammel) Dockter. He received his early education at the rural St. Paul Township school and helped on the family farm.
He entered the US Army February 29, 1952 at Fargo, ND. He served in Europe and was honorably discharged February 17, 1954 at Ft. Sheridan, IL, with the rank of CPL. Arnold returned back home to farm for many years.
He was a member of the English Lutheran Church, a member of the American Legion and served on St. Paul Township board for 50 years. He drove school bus for Medina Public School for 23 years.
Arnold is survived by 5 brothers, Gerhard, Jamestown, ND; Maynerd, Medina, ND; Daniel, Jamestown; Raymond, Jamestown; Marcus, Jamestown; 5 sisters, Elaine Martel, Fargo; Mavis Lorig, Jamestown; Phyllis Schick, Roscoe, IL; Donna McDaniel, Fargo; Sandra Bowman, Tacoma, WA; many nieces and nephews whom he loved very dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service- 7:00 PM Monday February 10, 2020 at the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Burial – Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND will be at a later date
