Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — A 37-year-old Valley City man –

Jackson “Jack” Schnaidt– died Monday (Aug 6, 2012) stemming from a head-on collision with his motorcycle and a pickup, on Highway 62 north of Spiritwood Lake.

Stutsman County Sheriff Office Sergeant Liz Kapp says the crash occurred about 4:30 –p.m., approximately three miles north of Spiritwood Lake.

A report from Stutsman County Sheriff, Chad Kaiser said, the driver of the pickup, 63 year old Alvin Alderman of Wimbledon was cited for Driving Under Suspension, and the report says he had consumed alcohol prior to the crash, but was under the legal limit.

The report said at the time of the accident the Ford pickup was headed north on Highway 62, at a crest of a hill.

The motorcycle was southbound, and crossed into the on coming lane at the crest of the hill, and collided with the left side of the pickup, causing the pickup to come to rest in the west ditch, and the motorcycle also came to rest in the west ditch.

Alderman was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Schnaidt was not wearing a helmet, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol is assisting with the reconstruction of the accident, which is still under investigation.

Jackson “Jack” Schnaidt, age 37, of Valley city, ND died Aug. 6, 2012 of injuries resulting from a motorcycle accident. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday August 10th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City with Rev. Dan Forsberg officiating. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Valley City, ND.
