Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — Barnes County Water Resource Board Manager Duane Lettenmaier, has been dismissed as the commission decided he was using his job for personal gain.
It’s alleged that Lettenmaier was directly benefiting from a drain project, that taxpayers were partially paying for. The project was designed to clean out cat tails that blocks a drain, and backing up water onto his property.
Lettenmaier says he will not appeal the decision.
The Board earmarked some 10-thousand-dollars for the project, and was billed for more than 22-thousand dollars.
The project was been terminated.
