Valley City, ND, (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Barnes County Relay for Life co-chair, Marge Bessette, said the Relay was a success despite a soggy start.  The count of  dollars raised as of Friday night was $33,500  with more to come.

Details of the event previoulsy reported:

RELAY:  6:00 PM to Midnight in Downtown Valley City  Central Ave. from Main St. to 4th St.  As of 10:30am Friday, events are on schedule, however, check back mid afternoon for any changes.

Co-event coordinator Lisa McCulloch says volunteers are needed to help place Luminaria bags on the sidewalk path, in downtown Valley City beginning Friday at 3:30pm

The Relay is very near!  Any money collected may be dropped off at Wells Fargo Bank.  Bank Night will be Wednesday, June 19th at the Viking Room.  Please plan to attend, get your tshirt, drop off your Silent Auction item, get last minute details regarding Logistics, bring in your completed luminary bags, and ask questions.     There are still luminary bags available at the Viking Room.

Some Highlights at Relay:  Greg Hager will be providing live entertainment with CD’s for sale, Big Hammer Entertainment, Silent Auction, Many different Youth Games, Face Painting, Pie Throw, Dutton’s Open Mic, Plinko, Snow Cones, Caramel Apples, Viking Room Delicious Meal Deal, the Gala Traveling Quilt will be on display and raffled off, Firetruck, and the other surprises.
