Valley City  (NDHP)   The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, a Fargo woman was seriously injured after overturning her motorcycle on I-94 near Valley City Saturday shortly before 5-p.m.

Sgt. Evan Savageau reports  at 4:45-p.m., the 42 year-old Fargo woman, Melisa Banish,  was operating a  2016 Harley Davidson, Softail, on I-94, at mm  291 near Valley City,  that was traveling eastbound  in the left lane. she was traveling down hill on a curve and failed to negotiate the curve. The Harley Davidson ran off the roadway into the median of Interstate 94 causing it to overturn. She and Harley Davidson came to rest in the median of the Interstate.  She was not wearing a helmet.

Banish  was transported to CHI Mercy Health in Valley City by Valley City Ambulance. Avera Careflight of Aberdeen, SD transported her to Sanford Hospital in Fargo to be treated for her injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene  by the, Barnes County Sheriff’s Office, Valley City Police Department, Valley City Ambulance, Valley City Fire Department, and Avera Careflight.
