Valley City  (NDHP)   The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that on Monday at 10:44 PM a Trooper attempted to stop an eastbound 2000 Chevrolet Impala on I-94 at MP 281 (10 miles east of Valley City) for exceeding the speed limit.

The driver of the Impala fled leading Law Enforcement on a pursuit that covered 48 miles. A tire deflation device was used deflating all four tires on the Impala. The driver continued to flee at low speeds approximately 15 MPH approximately one mile. A Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) was successfully used to disable the vehicle.

The pursuit ended 24 northeast of Valley City on 19th St SE (1 mile west of ND Hwy 32). The driver of the vehicle Austin Muck (Fargo) was taken into custody without further incident. Muck was charged with; Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment and Driving Under Suspension. A female passenger in the vehicle, Natalie Schlotfeldt (Enderlin), was taken into custody without incident on an outstanding warrant. The North Dakota Highway Patrol was assisted by the Barnes County Sheriff’s Office and the Valley City Police Department.
