New Channels on CSi TV

CSi Classic 80 Cable TV additions & changes August 1, 2013.

• New on CSi 17:  ESPN Classic  
• New on CSi 21:  National Geographic Channel
• New on CSi 41:  FOX SPORTS 1 (formerly Speed)
• New on  CSi 75:  MidcoSports Net – home to UND Hockey – Football & more!

Fox Sports 1  (Speed) – is an upcoming American sports-oriented cable channel. The network will air live sporting events, including the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Major League Baseball (starting in 2014), the UFC, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and original programming.   Fox will rebrand SPEED as FoxSports 1 (FS1) on Aug 17.

National Geographic Channel, also known as  NAT GEO, airs non-fiction television programs produced by the National Geographic Society and other production companies. Like History and the Discovery Channel, the channel features documentaries with factual content involving nature, science, culture, and history, plus some reality programming.

ESPN Classic,  features reruns of famous sporting events, sports documentaries, and sports themed movies. Programs include biographies of famous sports figures or a rerun of a famous World Series or Super Bowl, often with added commentary on the event.

CSi 75 -MidcoSports Net – exclusive home to UND Hockey.   UND Hockey would only be available to viewers if Midco Sports Net is carried as a full-time channel, which will include Univ of South Dakota and South Dakota State University sports, plus the UND Sports Network, and other broadcasts of UND sports, along with many other smaller colleges in the Dakotas and Minn.

To make room for the new channels, a few changes will take place to the CSi Classic 80 Cable lineup:

• ABC Family moved to channel 50
• MSNBC moved to channel 74
• CSPAN1  moved to channel 58
• NASA moved to channel 76
• Downtown WebCAM/Prairie Radio moved to channel 77

Bloomberg TV (74) was removed from the current lineup,  but remains available ONLINE free at http://www.bloomberg.com/tv .   SEE LINK ON RIGHT SIDE OF PAGE.      KFME Minn Ch (76) and CSPAN 3 (77) will leave the lineup for now,  and will return later this year in a Digital Cable package.  TV Guide will be only on CSi 7.

Price Increase August 1, 2013:

Last January, the local broadcast TV stations increased the fees they charge cable viewers. The price for the 10 Ch Economy TV Service (channels 2-13) will increase $1 per month effective August 1, 2013 to $22/mth plus City/FCC fees.

The fees paid for the wide array of cable networks we offer,  such as CNN, ESPN, Discovery, and others, increased Jan 2013. Those increases by the cable networks & the local broadcast TV stations, coupled with the cost of the new channels that viewers have been asking for, will result in an increase of the Classic 80 Cable TV monthly price of $4. Effective August 1, 2013, if you have the Classic 80 package (chs 2-77), you will see an increase of $4/mth to $44/mth plus City/FCC fees.  (total increase with City/FCC fees Jamestown = $4.11,  increase in Valley City = $4.21)
