Jamestown (CSi) On Thursday afternoon, a person was taken into custody who was wanted after a pursuit.
26 year-old Eric Skorick is facing charges of Driving Under Suspension, Fleeing/Eluding a Police Officer, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment, and Theft of Property. He’s currently being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center on $5,500 bond.
The pursuit was initiated outside city limits, on I-94, when the vehicle was engaged by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Jamestown Assistant Police Chief, Major Justin Blinsky, reports, that when the pursuit entered city limits, a crash occurred at the intersection of 8th Avenue Southeast and 7th Street Southeast. The driver then fled on foot but was apprehended in the area, about 3:50-p.m. Radio reports indicated the person was located in a house, which was actually a garage in the 700 block of 7th Avenue, Southeast.
As a precaution, during the search, Roosevelt Elementary School was locked down and then was released. Blinsky says there is no threat to the public, or the school.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol was assisted by the Jamestown Police Department and Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office.
