BISMARCK, N.D. (AP Jul 15, 2013) – A North Dakota judge has ruled that a 2011 state law that seeks to limit the use of drugs to terminate pregnancies is unconstitutional.

East Central Judge Wickham Corwin said in April following a three-day trial that he would rule in favor of the state’s sole abortion clinic in its challenge of the state law. Corwin officially ruled on the case Monday.
Corwin had already granted an injunction preventing the law from taking effect. He has called that legislation “simply wrongheaded.”
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEN’-jihm) has said that the state will defend the law before the North Dakota Supreme Court.
