Bismarck  (ND Aeronautics Commission)  North Dakota’s eight commercial service airports posted a total of 92,922 airline passenger boardings during the month of July. This month experienced the highest level of passenger traffic that the state has seen since the Covid-19 pandemic began and continues the monthly positive trend of growing airline passenger demand. Multiple airports within the state have also reached or are close to reaching prepandemic passenger demand levels.

One example of the extraordinary ongoing airline passenger recovery can be seen at the Hector International Airport in Fargo which is the state’s largest commercial service airport. This past month, the airport provided service for 42,871 passenger boardings which is only 1% lower than their month of July passenger record of 43,437 that was set in 2019.

Executive Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission Kyle Wanner says, ” The July airline boarding numbers have exceeded our expectations and we are excited to see multiple airports within the state have reached or are close to reaching pre-pandemic demand levels.” We hope that the demand for air travel is sustained and continues to trend in a positive direction as we move into the next half of 2021.”

Jamestown July 2021 Boardings were 1275, compared to the 488 in 2020, and 6344 in 2019.

Year to date, in July 2021 Jamestown boardings were 5818 compared to 3373 in 2020 an increase of 72-percent.
