MOORHEAD, Minn. (UJ)– The University of Jamestown women’s cross country team saw its first action of the season Friday evening at the Dragon Twilight, hosted by Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
Paige Erbstoesser (FR/West Fargo, N.D.) was the first Jimmie runner to cross the line, finishing the 4K race in 17 minutes, 19.8 seconds.
Elise Cummins (FR/Sparks, Nev.) followed Erbstoesser with a time of 18:18.0, then Silje Kindseth (FR/Grand Forks, N.D.) in 18:42.4. Jennifer Tallackson (FR/Wheatland, N.D.) rounded things out for UJ, finishing in 19:47.3.
It was the first collegiate race for all four runners.
Taylor Hestekin of the University of Mary was the top placer, finishing in 14:32.3.
The Jimmies will be at the Shane Grever Invitational in Dickinson, N.D., on September 24.

Drew Hjelmstad (FR/Maple Grove, Minn.) was the top finisher for UJ, running the 6K course in 20 minutes, 35.4 seconds. Kadin Neppl (FR/Maddock, N.D.) was the Jimmies’ second finisher in a time of 22:04.5.
Noah Mang (JR/West Chester, Ohio) (22:12.9), Micah Hoke (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) (22:21.0), and David Martin (JR/Wasco, Calif.) (22:26.5) rounded out the Jamestown top five.
Ethan Sherva (FR/Portland, N.D.) (22:36.1), Corbin Cornelius (FR/Wahpeton, N.D.) (24:22.2), Lorenzo Maldonado (JR/Wasco, Calif.) (25:34.4), and Jacob Juelfs (SR/Medina, N.D.) (28:31.8) comprised the other UJ finshes.
The Jimmies return to action September 24 at the Shane Grever Invite in Dickinson, N.D.
