Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — Jamestown Police is asking anyone who purchased items from Tara Bauer, of Jamestown to contact police
The 40 year old Bauer is accused of stealing items in early June this year, from the Jamestown Walmart store and using her children to sell the stolen property.
Bauer is suspected of selling some of the items in “rummage sales” pages on social media web sites.
Police believe Bauer was working alone in the thefts.
Police say Bauer shoplifted an estimated $5,200 in items from the Jamestown Walmart while recruited the others, to return the items for cash or to pawn the stolen items.
The alleged thefts took place in early June. Bauer was arrested July 8.
The stolen items included a television, an air conditioner, household appliances and swimming pools.
Bauer , is charged with theft of property, a Class C felony; dealing in stolen property, a Class B felony; and child neglect or abuse, a Class C felony.
She is scheduled to appear in Southeast District Court August 12, 2013 for a preliminary hearing and or arraignment on the charges. She remains is free on bond.
Anyone who purchased any items from Bauer or has information about items she allegedly stole is asked to call 252-2414 and speak to Corporal Nick Hardy.
The maximum penalty for a Class B felony is 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The maximum penalty for a Class C felony is five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
