ELKHORN, Neb.– (UJ) Tate Olson (SR/Cook, Minn.) turned in the top round for the University of Jamestown men’s golf team at the GPAC Fall Championship, which is being held at Indian Creek Golf Course.
GPAC FALL CHAMPIONSHIP–ROUND ONE
Olson shot a 5-over 77 and is tied with four others for 28th. Max Noffsinger (FR/Ft. Collins, Colo.) is tied for 34th at 6-over 78, Treyton Forsman (SR/Lewiston, Idaho) and Jackson Worner (JR/West Fargo, N.D.) are tied for 44th at 10-over 82, and Tomas Garcia (FR/Vigo, Spain) is tied for 48th at 11-over 83.
Ryan Rogers of Midland and Sam Storey of Morningside are tied for the lead at 4-under 68.
As a team, the Jimmies are in 10th place at 31-over 319, five shots back of Dakota Wesleyan and nine shots behind Dordt.
Morningside leads the team race at 10-under 278.
Tuesday’s second round begins at 10:00 a.m.

BISMARCK, N.D. (UJ) — Izzy Marchino (SR/Highlands Ranch, Colo.) took medalist honors and the University of Jamestown women’s golf team won the University of Mary Fall Invite which concluded Monday at Hawktree Golf Course.
UMARY FALL INVITE FINAL RESULTS
Marchino shot a second-round 81 to finish at 19-over 163 (82-81), five shots ahead of UMary’s Anna Graveline. Graveline (80) and Marchino were the only players to shoot in the 80s on Monday.
Jayme Carlson (JR/Hartford, S.D.) finished third at 30-over 174 (82-92), Haley Malone (JR/Moorhead, Minn.) tied for sixth at 43-over 187 (90-97), Faith Justesen (SO/Hawley, Minn.) was eighth at 44-over 188 (95-93), and Kyra Vogel (FR/Jamestown, N.D.) 11th at 51-over 195 (100-95).
The Jimmies compiled a two-round score of 134-over 710 (349-361), 26 shots better than UMary and 57 shots ahead of Valley City State University.
Next up for Jamestown is the GPAC Fall Championship at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, S.D., October 4-5.
