Valley City (VCPS) A 39-year-old Dazey, man has been charged following a domestic violence incident in Valley City that was reported on Friday, December 3.
Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher says, the suspect, Jeremy Wade Hatcher was arrested for Simple Assault (Domestic Violence). Chief Hatcher says looking into the initial arrest, it was determined that Jeremy Hatcher allegedly committed other assaults.
That report about those incidents was given to the Barnes County State’s Attorney. Leading to more charges of Simple Assault (Domestic Violence) that occurred in November. At the time of the arrest, officers also found methamphetamine.
Jeremy Wade Hatcher faces three felony charges including one count of Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence) and one count of Terrorizing (Domestic Violence). And one count of Unlawful possession of a controlled substance, all are Class C Felonies. In total Jeremy Hatcher faces three felony and three misdemeanor charges.
Police Chief Phil Hatcher adds, the Valley City Police Department urges victims of any violence to contact police so they can help, whether through the courts or through the Abused Person’s Outreach Center (APOC) and Valley City Police other local partners. Adding “We strive for safety and justice for all victims.”
