Valley City (CSi) A Valley City man facing charges, of burglary and theft of property, on Monday December 13, 2021, changed his plea to guilty.
26-year-old Jeffery Lee Hoganson was arrested and charged in connection with separate incidents in Valley City and at rural residents in Barnes County. He was also sentenced to three years in prison by Judge Jay Schmitz and ordered to pay restitution of $4,284. He was given credit for 35 days served in the Barnes County jail.
Jeffery Lee Hoganson was arrested October 16, charged with burglary and theft of property, released and arrested again after he was confronted by a Barnes County man protecting his property at a rural residence on November 10.
Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher says Hoganson was arrested and charged with burglary and theft of property stemming from a break-in at Smith Lumber Company and another break-in at Bjornson Public Golf course on October 16.

Valley City (CSi) The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office reports, that a Valley City man who is facing several burglary and theft of property charges stemming from incidents reported last month in Valley City is facing more charges.
The report said, 26-year-old Jeffery Lee Hoganson was arrested on November 10th after he was confronted by a Barnes County man protecting his property at a rural residence.
Hoganson is now facing criminal mischief and trespassing charges after he was allegedly caught taking property off the man’s farmstead. Hoganson is in the Barnes County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Valley City (CSi) A Valley City man has been formally charged by the Barnes County State’s Attorney, in connection with incidents that occurred sometime over the weekend of October 16, 17, 2021.
The Barnes County Clerk of Court Office, reports that 26 year old Jeffery Lee Hoganson has been charged with two counts of Felony Burglary, one count of Felony Theft, two counts misdemeanor possession of stolen property, and two misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief.
He made his initial court appearance on October 18, 2021. Bail was set at $2,000 cash or $5,000 Surety Bond.
At last report he remained incarcerated at the Barnes County Correctional Center.

Valley City (CSi) Valley City Police continues asking for the Public’s help concerning finding those responsible for a vandalism and burglary of buildings at Bjornson Public Golf Courses over this past weekend.
Valley City Parks and Recreation Director Tyler Jacobson states that the someone was unsuccessful in attempting to break into a safe. He said the damage caused by the vandalism is estimated in the thousands of dollars.
Meanwhile police are also investigating burglaries and vandalism reported at the Valley City Town and Country Club and Smith Lumber Company in Valley City.
A Valley City man was arrested and faces two counts of burglary, one count of theft, possession of stolen property and criminal mischief. The State’s Attorney will examine the evidence before formal charges may be filed, and his name is released.
