Dennis M. Qual, 70, Jamestown, ND died Saturday January 22, 2022 due to unexpected complications from Covid at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center in Jamestown, ND.

Dennis was born December 9, 1951 at Camp Rucker in Alabama, the son of Ralph Qual and LaVerne (Daley) Qual. He attended elementary school in Jamestown graduating from the Jamestown High School in 1970. He entered the US Army March 15, 1971. He was Honorably discharged March 14, 1977 at Fort Carson, CO, with the rank of SP4. Upon his return to Jamestown, he began his career as a truck driver.

He and Damaris Beck were married July 15, 1977 in Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where he continued to drive truck until retirement. 1 year prior to his retirement from driving, Dennis received the Million Mile Safe Driver Award. Following retirement, he worked for the city transit, Stutsman County Fair Board, and drove for local farmers. His interest in racing led him to working and helping at the Jamestown Speedway for 44 years.

He was a member of the Jamestown Eagles, Elks and lifetime member of the VFW.

His 2 girls were his world, he did anything and everything for them. Becoming a grandpa brought him so much pride and joy. His heart was filled with so much love for each of them. Spending time with all family was very important to him. Dennis enjoyed helping with many jobs on the farm from planting time to harvest and beyond. Over the past couple of summers, he really took a liking to fishing. He enjoyed working on classic cars and race cars with his friend Don Gumke, and watching any type of classic car show. He especially enjoyed his new classic car he recently acquired. Dennis was always there to help others whether it be with snow removal or any other job.

He is survived by his wife Damaris, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters Michelle (Darron) Carr and Nicole (Dusty) Bruggeman, 4 grandchildren; Trevyn, Lauryn, Austin and Olivia, 3 brothers and 1 sister, Jerome (special friend Dawn Freutel) Qual, Ronald (Beth) Qual, Richard (Terri) Qual, Nancy (Michael) Schultz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday January 29, 2022 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Michelle Brennan, officiating
