Update

Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown City Fire Department was called to Eventide Nursing Home at 1300 Second Place Northeast in Jamestown at 11:53 am Monday.

The initial fire call was to Wing Four of the building.   City Fire Chief Jim Reuther says the fire was out when the units arrived on scene.

Residents were evacuated, by the staff, and Jamestown Police as a precaution, as smoke was being extracted. JPD also directed traffic.

The cause was listed as a microwave in a resident’s room.  A towel   caught fire that was in microwave. No injuries were reported.

23 city fire units  responded.

The units cleared the scene at 12:17-p.m.
