(VCSU) At this time, the City is preparing for the river to rise to 18.5 feet Flood protection infrastructure will be built to 20.5 feet- two feet above the projected crest per engineering guidelines.
Campus is safe from flooding.
- All classes and services will operate normally.
The current flood stage causes three operational changes for VCSU.
- The parking lots near the river (gravel and paved lots) have been closed.
- The VCSU walk bridge has been closed.
- Campus parking has been limited. Please read more details below.
Campus is safe and everyone is encouraged to make safe choices.
- Don’t go sight-seeing in flooded areas. It is dangerous to walk or drive through standing water.
- Don’t go in areas that are closed off by flood walls, including the VCSU walk bridge. Do not climb on levees or floodwalls.
Parking on campus has been limited due to flood impacts.
All off-campus students and most employees are required to park at the Field House and ride a shuttle to campus starting Monday, April 25, 2022.
Students living in the residence halls and employees who are designated as essential employees can park on campus.
- The shuttle will run 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
- On the weekends and for evening classes & events, individuals will be able to park on campus.
- Please plan accordingly for the shuttle schedule.
- The shuttles will take less than five minutes to get you to main campus (Student Center front entrance).
