Edna Brown, 94, Jamestown, ND went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Eventide in Jamestown, ND.
Edna Bernice Rutgerson was born September 25, 1927 at Buchanan, ND, the daughter of Edwin and Gertrude (Carlsson) Rutgerson. She attended school at Buchanan and graduated from Buchanan High School in 1945.
On September 17, 1947 Edna married the love of her life, Roy Brown. They made their home in Jamestown. She worked as a clerk at Woolworth’s from 1950-1951. From 1951 through 1978 she stayed home to raise their three daughters. In 1978 she started working as a secretary for Kiefel Insurance (AAL) until retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Jamestown and was active in the lady’s circle.
She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and baking goodies. She has the sweetest soul and a huge love for animals, especially dogs. She had several dogs over the years and we are sure that each one of them greeted her at Heaven’s Gate. She was always happy and upbeat and had a beautiful smile and disposition. She and Roy have continued to live in Jamestown and entered Eventide in August 2021.
Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving mother is the greatest gift of all. That is our mother. Heaven gained a wonderful lady, and our entire family will be at a loss until we meet again.
Edna is survived by her husband of 74 years, Roy, Jamestown, ND, 3 daughters, Linda Brown, Susan (George) Dockter, and Sandra Brown, all of Jamestown, ND, nieces Jannet (Barry) Hendrickson, Denton, Texas, Judy (Bill) Shepard, Tacoma, Washington, Edy Matchey, Lewiston, Idaho, Phyllis Zentner, Topeka, Kansas, Cindy Brown Card, Auburn, Washington and nephew Avery Miller, LaMesa, California.
