Ronald Glen Trapp, the son of Lyle and Vivian (Hill), was born March 11, 1944 in Valley City, ND.  Ron grew up on the family farm, just north of Marion, ND.  He attended school in Marion and graduated with the class of 1962.  After his graduation, he worked for area farmers before becoming a North Dakota Brand Inspector.  In April of 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Joan Berg.  They made their home in West Fargo for several years, before he decided he wanted to drive truck.  They lived in Montpelier, Jamestown and Eldridge before moving back to Marion where he worked as the Assistant Manager at Marion Equity Elevator.  Ron later drove truck over the road for many years for different companies.  His travels took him to almost every state in the union, with only two minor accidents.  Ron retired from driving in the fall of 2013.  Within two weeks of his retirement, he and Joan were headed for Arizona for the first of nine winters there.  Because of boredom, Ron began driving in the summers for his good friend George Tvedt.  One of the highlights of his Arizona winters was working and riding at the Horse Rescue there.  He made a lot of friends at the Horse Rescue and enjoyed riding with them in the desert.

Grieving his passing are his wife Joan, Marion, ND; three sons, Shane (Yvonne) Trapp, Taylorsville, KY, Wade Trapp, Boston, MA and Cody (Lisa) Trapp, Litchfield, MN; one daughter, Sasha Trapp, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Hunter Trapp, Willow City, ND, MaKayla and Conner Trapp, Taylorsville, KY, Spencer Trapp, Piqua, OH, Brodie and Braeden Trapp, Litchfield, MN and Carley Jones, Apache Junction, AZ; his sister Vione (Keith) McCleary, Marion, ND; a sisters in law, Connie Trapp, Fran Trapp and Laura Berg; brothers in law, Ken Berg and Ron Berg; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
