Brenda Aase, 72, Nome, ND passed away at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin, ND on July 14, 2022.  Brenda’s memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fingal, ND, with visitation being held the hour prior to the service.  She will be laid to rest in the Old Holy Trinity Catholic cemetery.  The service will be live streamed, then archived, and available to view along with the obituary on her tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com

Brenda Marie Schlagel was born May 22, 1950, in Valley City, ND to Raymond and Violet (Christl) Schlagel.  Brenda was baptized and confirmed at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  She grew up in rural Barnes County attending Lucca School through the 8th grade before going on to Fingal Public School.  She graduated valedictorian of her class.  After finishing high school, she went on to Interstate Business School in Fargo, ND. She was an excellent scholar.

She worked at a bank in Fargo before marrying Don Ringdahl.  They moved to Embden, ND and welcomed their son, Cory.  Brenda worked as a waitress in Valley City, Fargo, and Kathryn.

While working in Kathryn, she met Jon Aase.  They were married in Valley City on May 24, 2000.  Jon and Brenda lived in Kathryn for a number of years before moving to Nome.

Brenda’s career for the last 14 years was her passion.  She volunteered countless hours at Maryhill Manor in Enderlin.

She is survived by her husband, Jon; son, Cory Ringdahl; granddaughter, Caitlyn Cole; brother, Perry (Sylvia) Schlagel; nieces Erin (Erik) Sand and Amy (Ben) Gunkelman and their families; brothers-in-law, Jerry and Danny Aase; and sisters-in-law, Judy Sigmund and Emily (Charles) Johnson.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.

The Lerud Mathias Funeral Home is assisting Brenda’s family with arrangements.
