NDHP-1Update…Tappen, ND  (KCSi-T.V. News Aug 19, 2013)  —  The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, one person died and another was injured in a one-vehicle crash near Tappen,  Sunday morning about 1-a.m.

The report says a 2007 Chevrolet pickup was traveling  about a half a mile north of town when the driver lost control of the vehicle,  entering the west ditch where it struck an approach and rolled. Both occupants were thrown from the vehicle. Neither was wearing seat belts.

24 year old Scott Lindegard, of Hallock, Minnesota,  was taken by Kidder County Ambulance to Sanford Health in Bismarck.  His condition  was not released.

The other occupant of the vehicle, 23 year old, Matthew Cain, of Napa, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident

The North Dakota Highway Patrol listed Lindegard  as the driver, but the  NDHP it is still investigating who was in fact driving the vehicle.

The car was totaled.

The Kidder County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
