Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. Aug 26, 20-13) — The United Way kick-off event is an Adult Prom on Sept. 27, 2013 at the Gladstone Inn starting at 7:00 p.m.
A social, is at 7:00 then dinner at 7:30 and 8:30 is the grand march of the agencies.
The agencies will compete for King and Queen of the prom by displaying the way in which the United Way contributes to their particular agency.
Tickets to attend are $25 a piece and can be purchased from any United Way board member or at Gate City Bank, also feel free to call us at 952-8929 that’s 952-8929 or check out their facebook page to get tickets that way.
The ticket includes a meal and entertainment, which is provided by R & C School of Rock DJ services, who are also donating their time and services.

A cash bar will be set up in the ballroom courtesy of Andrea at the Gladstone, donating the space for the event.
You must be 21 years old to attend.
Also on Monday’s show United Way Campaign Chairperson Megan Aldinger said
The United Way Campaign Goal for 2013-2014 goal is $200,000. She pointed out that the ambitious goal last year was met and the Jamestown community “has been incredible over the last few years, and we believe that support will continue. The Jamestown community has a greater need for services, which is the reason that we had to raise the campaign goals to help meet the needs for the services in Jamestown. “
The Stutsman County United Way currently helps to fund 22 agencies some of which include: Buffalo Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, Boy & Girl Scouts, Camp Rokiwan, Safe Shelter, RSVP, James River Family YMCA, Arts After School which is a program for children within the Jamestown Fine Arts Association, and Consumer Credit Counseling.
She said that 99% of the money donated to the United Way stays here in Jamestown and Stutsman County.
Ms. Stoddart add the United Way Board consists of an 18 member Board of Directors. This year our President is Lynette Stoddart, 1st Vice President, Carla Edinger, 2nd Vice President, Megan Aldinger, Treasurer, Shane Ede, and Secretary/Publicity, Jessica Haak. You can serve two consecutive three year terms and then you are required to sit out, so we are always looking for new board members who bring new ideas and energy to the board.
The United Way theme this year, is “Rockin’ the United Way.”
Upcoming events have also been planned in the coming months.
Those include a bake sale at the buffalo mall a bowling tournament, as the BIGGEST donations come from the business and workers in the community, with pledge packets be distributed in September.
