dakplainscoopJamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. Aug 26, 2013) — Pending approval of their boards, CHS Inc., and Dakota Plains Cooperative, a Valley City-based agribusiness, would merge.

The longtime business partners, have been affiliated with each other for more than 80 years.

CHS, Inc., based in St. Paul, Minnesota plans to build a $1.5 billion nitrogen fertilizer plant in Spiritwood Energy Park in the near future.

The merger would not slow down any progress on the fertilizer plant.

The merger has to be approved by Dakota Plains’ members and CHS’ board of directors.
