Lawrence “Larry” Reidman, 84, Dazey, died peacefully on November 30, 2022 at Mercy Hospital, Valley City, ND.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 6, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church east of Dazey.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and one hour before services in the church Tuesday morning.  A prayer service held at St. Mary’s Parish will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. 

Larry Conrad Reidman was born on March 3, 1938, the son of Alfons and Mary Reidman of Dazey, ND.  He attended grade school at Ladbury School, was a high school graduate of Dazey, and was drafted by the US Army in 1956 and served from 1957-1959.  Upon his discharge, he returned to farm.  He married LaVonne Hayes on October 3, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sanborn, North Dakota.  Larry’s passion was cattle, grain and farmland which he was active with until his passing.

Larry was an active member in St. Mary’s Church, Sodbusters, AmVets, Eagles, and Olson- Lovaas-Sad American Legion Post 149.  He enjoyed spending time with family – especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, farming, hunting, dancing, casinos, and the company of others.  Larry & LaVonne loved to travel via Amtrak and have been to every state Amtrak serves.  He will be long remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, big heart, and the Green Bay Packers.

Larry is survived by his 6 children, Jeff (Laurie), Plain City, OH; Wendy (Lyle) Hogue, Mandan, ND; Todd (Lenora), Bismarck, ND; Jerome (Michelle), Chino, CA; Kurt (Maria), Dazey, ND; Natalie (Dennis) Ketterling, Morris, MN; 15 people proud to call him Gpa: Brandon (Terri), Tanner (Erin), Colton, Darian, Evie, Konrad, Julie, Jesse, Madison, Amanda, Kennedy Reidman, Brandon Hatfield, Alyssa Timoschuk, Hunter and Reid Ketterling; Great Grandchildren – Falyn, Kellan, Harvey and Hewitt Reidman; one sister, Carol Legge, Sanborn, ND; many nieces and nephews and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne, parents, one brother, Bob; one sister, Irene Haugaard.

Following LaVonne’s passing, Larry was blessed to find a special friend and companion in Glenda Lea Sherman.  They enjoyed farm life, casinos and traveling.
