Jamestown (JPD) Police report that early Sunday morning, they responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. Shortly after midnight, a 1999 GMC Suburban was stolen from the 1500 block of 6th Avenue Southwest in Jamestown.

After the call came in, police located the stolen vehicle parked behind some garages a block north of the initial location. The vehicle was stopped in the alley and occupied by a female driver. Officers were able to take the female into custody without incident.

The female was identified as 36-year-old Heidi Hendricks of Valley City. Hendricks was in possession of 2 sets of keys belonging to a GMC pickup and a Lincoln Nautilus. Earlier in the day, Jamestown Police had received notification to be on the lookout for a stolen Lincoln Nautilus from the 600 block of 16th Street Southwest in Valley City.

Additional property was found inside the stolen Suburban, which indicated Hendricks was in possession of stolen property or keys from a total of 4 vehicles, 3 of which she is alleged to have stolen and driven to different locations.

Further investigation also alleges Hendricks had burglarized a Jamestown business and had taken one of the vehicles from inside that business.

Hendricks is facing 3 counts of theft/possession of stolen motor vehicles, 1 count of unlawful entry into a vehicle to commit a crime, 2 counts of theft/possession of keys, 1 count of burglary, 1 count of theft, and 1 count of driving while license was suspended.

Hendricks was transported to Stutsman County Corrections, where she awaits formal charges.

The incident remains under investigation and further charges are possible.
