Volunteer Information at Hope Village:

Make a difference in someone’s life – volunteer for rebuilding houses in Minot, ND through Hope Village.  Volunteers are needed to continue rebuilding efforts in Minot.

If you have experience in remodeling your home, you have the skills we need.

Hope Village is closing the volunteer housing/feeding portion of the response October 12, 2013,  but volunteers will be housed elsewhere if arriving after that date.

 The partners involved in rebuild, RAFT and the Recovery Warehouse will continue to assist homeowners to return to their homes beyond that time.

 If you are able to volunteer, please call 701-500-5206 for more details.  If volunteers need housing, please mention it at that time. Stipends or mileage may be available. 

 As of September 10th, there are 45 families waiting for volunteers who will rebuild their flooded homes.  All stages from framing through finishing work are needed– are you able help get these families back in their homes before the snow flies?

                       With 45 homes still needing assistance to be rebuilt, your help is needed now!

Volunteers Numbers Update:

v   Volunteers Sept 1st –Sept 7th there were 6 volunteer groups with 24 volunteers, donating 870 hours working on 16 homes.

v  A volunteer hour in ND is valued at $19.18/hr which equates to $16,686.60 of service given in just 7 days.

v  As of September 2013,  the Recovery Warehouse has supplied building materials to 202 homes.

Additional Assistance

Additional assistance may be available to those impacted by the 2011 flooding.  Homeowners who live within the city limits of Minot may qualify for Community Development Block Grant funds. Did you claim catastrophic loss on your tax return for 2011 or 2012? Income Guidelines have changed  so you may qualify for under these new guidelines – call 701-837-5813.  Until you ask, you don’t know!
